性质:纯铁之一种,含碳量在0.1%以下,也叫软铁,锻铁。熟铁塑性,韧性高,易加工变形,强度和屈服点低,可压力加工成薄板,棒材和线材。最早用木炭还原铁矿石制得,后来用生铁在在炉中高温搅炼制成。由于搅炼温度较低,只能得以半熔融状态的渣铁混合物,须经锻打,挤出渣子,去掉杂质,得到熟铁。熟铁内部一般夹杂有少量细长的残留渣,质软,延性及韧性好,磁导率高。中国民间习惯把含碳低、不能淬火硬化的软钢称为熟铁,或简称为铁。常加工成钉、螺栓、水管、油箱、链条及锻件,用于机械、建筑等工业部门。
