The test reveals that the climate laboratory of UHV AC test base has the ability of EHV/UHV icing test and provides a good test platform for the research of icing characteristics of external insulation, on-line monitoring and warning technology, ice-melting, de-icing technology and anti-freeze anti-icing materials applications.

This paper introduces the calculating method of electric field intensity and measures to reduce field intensity,and with Matlab software,makes simulation of the three measures on reducing the electric field intensity under the EHV、UHV transmission lines.
