形态特征:水麦冬科水麦冬属多年生湿生草本植物，植株弱小。叶基生，条形，长10-20厘米，宽1-2毫米。花葶细长，纤细，直立，总状花序顶生，具多数、疏生的花，6-7月开花，花无苞片;花小，花梗长约2毫米，花被片6枚，绿紫色，椭圆形或舟形，长2-2.5毫米;雌蕊由3个合生心皮组成，柱头毛笔状。蒴栗棒状条形，长约6毫米，直径约1.5毫米。
生境分布 生于咸湿地或浅水处，也生于海拔达3900米的山坡湿草地。分布于东北、华北、西北、西南各省区。北美、欧洲及亚洲也有。
