植物形态：一年生丛草本，秃净，高达60厘米，秆直立或基部伏地，扁平，叶二列式互生，线形，长10~30厘米，宽3~7厘米，叶鞘松弛，扁平，秃净或被睫毛，鞘口有毛。花绿色、顶声指状穗状花序2~7枚、小穗有小花3~6朵，颖不等长，第一颖有脉1条，较小，第二颖和外稃有脉3条。颖果长椭圆形或近三角形。 生态分布：产我国长江流域至南部各省；多生于旷野、路边、草地中，村落、城镇庭园中也有生长。 药用部分：全草或根入药，夏季可采。 用途：性味甘、平，无毒。能祛风胜湿。主治小儿消化不良，黄疸型肝炎，外伤出血，跌打损伤，疝气，风湿性关节炎。用量：全草5钱~1两。
