On the basis of an elaborate analysis of the construction and operational characteristics of NARITA EXPRESS,this paper suggests that suburb rapid line\'s development in China shall pay more attention to mode choice,operational organization and fare principles.

With an analysis of the technical standards and criterion, the station spacing principles and the laying out form of suburban line,the authors argue that the suburban line shall supply long-distance services;the station distribution can- not be arranged excessively dense and the suburban line shall main.
