In this paper,ultra-fine ZrB2 powders have been synthesized by liquid-phase method,using zirconium oxynitrate(ZrO(NO3)2·2H2O),boric acid,and phenolic resin as raw materials.

Through analyses by XRD it shows that Zr(CO_3)_2 and KBF_4 reactive products are ZrB_2,Al_2O_3,ZrAl_3 particles respectively, the reinforced particles of permanent mold casting composites are significantly larg.
