靠活塞往复运动使泵腔(气缸)的工作容积周期性地变化来抽气的真空泵,又称活塞真空泵。往复真空泵的结构与往复活塞压缩机相似。工作时,吸气管接被抽真空容器,排气管直通大气。往复真空泵抽气量较大,抽气速率范围为每小时45~20000立方米,单级泵极限压力约为103帕,双级泵可达1帕。往复真空泵可用于真空蒸馏、真空浓缩、真空结晶、真空过滤、真空干燥和混凝土真空作业等。在泵的吸气口处若安装冷凝器,可抽除含水蒸汽的气体;若安装过滤器,则可抽除含尘气体。
