性质:折色结晶。熔点155.5℃,通常用的是它的盐酸盐和硫酸盐。它们均为白色结晶性粉末,易溶于水,不溶于氯仿或乙醚。无臭,味微苦。其盐酸盐,[51-30-9],熔点170-170℃(分解);基硫酸盐,[6700-39-6],熔点128℃℃(分解)。

制备方法:由儿茶酚经氯乙酰化、胺化、成盐、催化氢化而得。

用途:该品为抗休克的血管活性药物。有强心、扩张外周血管和支气管作用。其松驰支气管平滑肌和缓解支气管痉挛的作用约为肾上腺素的10倍,增强心肌收缩力,加快心率和加速传导的作用也较强。盐酸异丙肾上腺素对大鼠口服LD50为2221±93mg/kg。
