A novel hybrid active power filter(HAPF)with series resonance circuit turned at fundamental frequency is proposed,which is composed of high-capacity passive power filters(PPFs)for harmonic currents suppression as well as reactive power compensation and an active power filter(APF)for improving filtering performance as well as overcoming resonance problem due to PPFs.

The passive power filter is applied in power distribution network to suppress the network harmonic and compensate the reactive power,the optimization of LC parameter becomes important in the filter design.

Following actual harmonic control of power network,considering the status of passive power filters and the defects of excessive assumed conditions and insufficient optimization ability in present optimization methods,a multi-objective optimization method for passive power filters design is proposed.
