位于胸部的椎骨共12个,也参于胸廓的组成,以上向下逐渐增大。胸椎的形态主要特点是在椎体的两侧有肋凹,与肋骨小头构成关节,在横突尖端的前面有横突肋凹与肋结节构成关节,棘突很长,斜向后下,并相互掩盖,呈叠瓦状。
