The advances in identification and quantification of marine harmful algae were reviewed from five aspects,such as the image recognition method based on morphological differences,molecular biological method based on the nucleic acids and immunoassay,the method based on the characteristic pigments and optical properties,and the problems and development trend were analyzed briefly.
