X型人才(X type talent)按知识结构划分出来的一种新型人才类型。它用字母“X”形象地反映出这类人才的知识结构特点。其一，X型人才必须系统地掌握两门专业知识;其二，两门专业知识必须有明显的交叉点、结合部。X型人才比较适合做两种专业交叉结合的工作。比如，随着我国社会主义现代化事业的发展，需要一大批从事社会心理学研究工作者，他们必须是既懂社会学又懂心理学的X型人才。由于科学发展的不断综合化，加之电子计算机的广泛应用，各行各业都急需大量的X型人才。作为领导者必须认清这个形势，突破“专业对口”的陈旧观念，鼓励知识分子钻研学习第二专业，并要建立一套必要的制度，为X型人才的发展创造一个良好的环境。 (李军撰王树茂审)
