It is in the zigzag course of development that modern Olympic Games gradually becomes a premier game in international sports games.

By means of the research methods of literature, interviews to experts, comparative analysis, investigations and so on, the present paper has analyzed the effect of the international major sports competitions held in the past and Beijing Olympic Games that will be held in 2008 on the host city.

By using the research methods of literature and so on, the present study has expounded the relationship between the international major sports competitions, especially the Olympic Games, World Cup of FIFA and Formula One Grand Prix, and the development of internationalized metropolis.

By using the methods of literature, questionnaire and interviews to experts, the present paper has discoursed on the characteristics and forms of bidding for the international major sports competitions, the main factors of influencing the successive bid, the basic factors of success in bid and so forth.
