安家沟位于河北省张家口市桥西区大境门外西北部 2.6公里 处，流域面积约 4.25平方公里，沟长 4625米 ，由西向东北方向延伸，分出 12条支沟。数十座形态各异的山峰奇妙绝伦。沟内年平均气温5— 6℃ ，最低气温 - 18℃ ，最高 26.6℃ ，年降雨量 330—550 ㎜ ，无霜期 117天，积温 2488℃ 。该区域内植被覆盖率高，整个沟环绕在群山之中，避开了城市的杂吵和污染，是发展生态旅游的理想场所。通过前期治理，现沟内水、电、路基础设施齐备。 安家沟以自然生态为优势，有着深刻的历史内涵和浓厚的文化底蕴，建成了一处集休闲、度假、餐饮、住宿、娱乐为一体的乡野风情旅游区。景区内峰峦叠嶂、树木繁茂、山清水秀，两座小型水库坐落其中，沟内有鸳鸯洞、清风亭、乡情园、国防洞、风岭瀑、趣乐园、盘龙道、九龙台等旅游景点，置身其中时时处处感受塞外小桂林的独特风情。
