With a separate discussion on the study of tectonic inversion in sedimentary basins and orogens,this paper proposes the thinking of basin-orogen integration research for inversion tectonics,which is based on the theory of basin-mountain coupling and the role of inversion tectonics in oil and gas pool formation and mineralization.

Integrating study the relationship between basin-mountain system and oil and gas pool forming process is one of the frontier research fields in the study of continental geodynamics,and also is a key problem of petroleum exploration in China.

Therefore, analysis of the architecture and tectonic evolution of the basin-mountain system in Sichuan Basin and its adjacent areas would be very important to gain a deeper understanding of the tectonic framework of and petroleum reservoir distribution in Sichuan basin.

This paper discusses the thermal-tectonic dynamic mechanism and control effects of basin-mountain evolution,lithosphere transformation and coalbed methane accumulation in the typical regions of North China on the basis of basin-mountain tectonic evolution and magma thermal structure.
