The damage bounding surface concept is introduced to develop the modified four parameter Hsieh-Ting-Chen model.

According to the datum of triaxial compression test for Yingcheng rock salt,the compaction-dilatancy boundary(CDB) of rock salt can be expressed by hyperbolic function for better applicability than the parabolic function,which often used for fitting the CDB of rock salt.

Through experimental and theoretical analyses,it is found that there is a compression-dilatancy boundary in the volumetric deformation;and the absolute dilatancy strain was estimated by determining the the minimal in pore volume change in other words maximum compression.
