On the basis of the study and discussion on several types of framework plant protection in terms of suitable condition,design method and influence mechanism,the paper presents the principle of selecting recovery plant on subgrade slope.

In this study,we took an airport town in Pudong new district,Shanghai as an example to study the practice and its ecological effect on plant slope protection techniques of streams,which could provide an effective means for the slope stabilization and site restoration of stream bank.

The mechanism of biotechnical slope protection was studied from three aspect of roots mechanical function, hydrologic effect of stem and leaf (includes dead branches and fallen leaves), and transpiration effect of plant.

In the light of the hardness of the Shenmu-Yanan railway roadside slope is high, surface soil is rigid and the need of decreasing the damages to original railway slope-surface, the crack-transplant method with transplant shovel and water-injection irrigation method with water-injector were created during slope-protection engineering with plant.

To find out the optimal accelerating germination treatment for the seeds of highway slope-protecting plants,using four kinds of commonly used highway slope-protecting plants in northern China,different accelerating germination treatments were carried out.
