J ISuQnji WQngluo计算机网络《computer network)地理上分散的多台独立自主的计算机通过软、硬件设备互连，以实现资源共享和信息交换的系统。具有访问权限的用户可以通过计算机网络中的任一台计算机去使用网络中的程序、数据和硬件设备。也就是说，用户在使用千里之遥的数据和程序时，就像使用本地的数据和程序一样，感觉不到地理上的距离。通过计算机网络，用户还可以选择具有适当处理能力的空闲计算机来分担自己的复杂任务。 由于数据和程序在网络的不同计算机中可拥有副本，因此，某个副本的损坏不会妨碍用户任务的完成。另外，某台或少部分计算机的故障也不会使计算机网络停止运行，所以计算机网络完成用户任务的可靠性要高于单机系统。 发展简史 计算机网络的工作始于60年代。1967年美国国防部设立了国防高级研究计划局1叭RPA，开始资助计算机网络的研究，1969年建成了连接美国西海岸的4所大学和研究所的小规模分组交换网—A卫尸A网。到1972年，该网络发展到具有34个接口报文处理机(IMI〕)的网络。当时，所使用的计算机是Pl)P一11小型计算机，使用的通信线路有专用线、无线、卫星等。另外，在该网中首次使用了分组交换和协议分层的概念。所谓介组是将所要传输的信息分成规定的长度并加上控制信息(例如地址、差错检验信息等)，分组有时也称为报文介组或数摇也计计·411·或也。协议是网络中通信双方传输信息时所必须遵守的规则的集合。协议分层指将协议按功能划分为不同的层次，低层向高层提供服务，同时又对高层屏蔽实现细节。 1983年，在ARPA网上开发了安装在UNIXBSD版上的1℃P/IP协议，从而使得该网络的应用和规模得到了进一步扩展。由于使用了用于网际互连的TCP/IP协议，ARPA网也由过去的单一网络发展成为连接多种不同网络的世界上最大的互联网—因特网。据因特网网络信息中心(INC)的资料，至1994年初，该网络已连接了世界上500万个结点，并以大约每月20%以上的速度递增。 除了ARPA网和因特网之外，从1973年起美国开始提供公用分组交换网(参见公用数据网)服务。1976年国际电报电话咨询委员会(CCTI、1，)制定了用于公用分组交换网的协议标准X.25，从而进一步推动了公用分组交换网的发展。公用分组交换网常简称为X.25网。1976年以后，日本、欧洲、北美等相继开发出各自的公用分组交换网。
