功德者，如来万行之因，法身之果德也。为令众生如佛修行，皆得成就无上道果，故说六种相也。
［一、圆满］，谓诸如来万行具足，种智圆明，于世间、出世间一切功德皆悉成就；超过声闻、缘觉、菩萨之上，故曰圆满。（菩萨，梵语具云菩提萨埵，华言觉有情。）
［二、无垢］，谓诸如来由证常乐我净之德，而无一切烦恼污染，故曰无垢。
［三、不动］，谓诸如来由证大寂灭定，所有功德，一切外道魔军盗贼亲属，乃至火水风等，皆不能挠乱变坏，故曰不动。
［四、无等］，谓诸如来所有种种功德，广大尊胜，威力自在；一切有情，乃至菩萨，无与比者，故曰无等。
［五、能作有情利益］，谓诸如来成就无上功德，方便示现利他之行，度脱有情，令成圣道，故曰能作有情利益。
［六、功能］，谓诸如来于所作利益有情之事，无所作愿，无所取舍，而自然圆就，故曰功能。
