二丙酮醇为中沸点溶剂,粘度低,受温度的影响小。能溶解树脂、硝酸纤维素、醋酸纤维素、乙基纤维素、有机玻璃、聚苯乙烯、聚酸酸乙烯酯,但不能溶解橡胶。也可用作金属清沽剂、木材防腐剂、药物抗陈剂等。
二丙酮醇对金屑无腐蚀性,可用铁、软钢和铝制容器包装。应贮存于通风、干燥的库房内,远离火种、热源。
