City,Merchant and Clan:A Case Study of Joint Clan in Shantou during the Republic of China

Based on the investigation of remaining clan organizations in Qinglong village and an comparative study of related documents and records and the villagers oral historical materials,this paper reveals the characteristics of the clan organization which only can be found in modern society-sustainability,implication and deformation.
