性质:好氧微生物的代谢需要氧,而且所需的是溶解在培养液中的氧即溶解氧。只有提供了必要的溶解氧,微生物才能达到合适的代谢活性。氧作为生化反应电子传递链的最终受体。在基质氧化过程中微生物可获得能量。但氧在水中的溶解度很小,如在25℃时,101.325kPa的空气在纯水中氧的饱和溶解度仅为8.47mg/L,在4~33℃范围内,0.1MPa的空气在水中的氧饱和溶解度可用468/(31.6+t)mg/L估算,此处t为系统温度,℃。为了将空气中的氧溶解于培养液中,实验室里用摇瓶机促进空气与培养液接触,增强氧的溶解速率;在中试车间或工厂,向发酵罐通入无菌压缩空气,并装有搅拌器,增加气液接触面积与时间。
