容重不大于1900公斤/米3的混凝土的统称。轻混凝土按其孔隙结构分为:轻集料混凝土(即多孔集料轻混凝土),多孔混凝土(主要包括加气混凝土和泡沫混凝土等)和大孔混凝土(即无砂混凝土或少砂混凝土)。轻混凝土与普通混凝土相比,其最大特点是容重轻、具有良好的保温性能。混凝土的容重越小,热导率越低,保温性能越好。容重为500~1400公斤/米3的轻混凝土,其热导率一般为0.116~0.488瓦/(米·开),主要用作有保温要求的墙体、屋面或各种热工构筑物的保温层。容重1400~1900公斤/米3、抗压强度为15~50兆帕的结构轻混凝土,由于自重轻、弹性模量低、抗震性能好、耐火性能也较好等特点,主要用作工业与民用建筑,特别是高层建筑和桥梁工程的承重结构。
