《淮南子》不是兵书,胜似兵书,全书有26例"禽"(擒)字,东汉高诱用直接注释和超前注释等5种方法注释了13例;而其余13例则不予注释,却可用援例释义和互文同义等6种方法辨析出"禽"字的"斩获"和"杀"等项字义,表现出高诱注释的少而精、言简意赅的高度技巧,并体现了高诱精于继往开来、巧于归纳的精神,对于研究中国古代战争和古籍注释等具有重要意义。
