性质:指氧化还原反应中脱去氢被氧化的那个物质。其本身具还原性是还原剂。由于脱氢实际上是脱下一个质子和一个电子(H=H++e),故也可统称为供电子体(electron donor)。在线粒体内膜电子传递链中,则同一物质既是受电子体又是供电子体,顺序地起传递电子或电子和质子的作用,完成从代谢物至分子氧为最终氧化剂的链式反应。
