【性状】
本品为白色或微黄色、质轻、软而多孔的海绵状物，具吸水性；经较重 的揉搓，不致崩碎。 本品在水中不溶。
【检查】
吸水力 取本品约1cm×1cm ×0.5cm ，精密称定，浸入20℃的水中， 用手指轻揉，注意不使破损，俟吸足水分，用小镊子轻轻夹住一角，提出水面停留1 分 钟后，精密称定，吸收的水分不得少于供试品重量的35倍。 炽灼残渣 取本品0.1g，依法检查（附录Ⅷ N），遗留残渣不得过2.0 ％。 无菌 取本品，依法检查（附录Ⅺ H），应符合规定。
