| 枪弹 bullet 从枪管内发射的弹药。俗称子弹。用于射击暴露的有生目标和薄壁装甲目标等。枪弹按配属枪种分为手枪弹、步机枪弹和大口径机枪弹等；按作用效果分为普通弹、穿甲弹、燃烧弹、曳光弹、爆炸弹等，另外还有穿甲燃烧弹、燃烧曳光弹、穿甲燃烧曳光弹、空包弹、教练弹和各种试验弹等；通常称口径在6毫米以下的为小口径枪弹；口径在12毫米以上的为大口径枪弹。 枪弹由弹头、发射药、弹壳和底火构成。底火用来点燃发射药。高温高压的火药燃气，高速膨胀，将弹头射出枪膛。高速飞行的弹头可直接杀伤或破坏目标。 常用的枪弹主要有：①普通弹。是多数枪械的主用弹药。普通弹对有生目 标的杀伤效果，取决于命中目标时的动能，以及对目标传递动能的多少和快慢。若弹头的存速高，动能大，而且在较短的时间内能将较多的能量传递给目标，则其杀伤效果就大。②曳光弹。弹头尾部装有曳光剂，发射时通常靠膛内火药燃气点燃，飞行中形成光迹显示弹道，用来指示目标、试射以修正弹着点或施放信号。③穿甲燃烧弹。弹头壳内装穿甲钢心和燃烧剂，主要用于射击薄壁装甲目标，是大口径机枪的主用弹药。④爆炸弹。有时间爆炸弹和触发爆炸弹2种 ，主要用于射击薄壁储油器、飞机等低强度的易燃目标，使其爆炸燃烧。这种弹由于受结构尺寸的限制，仅用于大口径机枪。
