With the construction of water conservancy and hydropower projects in upstream of Three Gorges Project in recent years,the inflow of Three Gorges Reservoir in pre-flood falling stage has increased substantially than the annual average flow.

According to historical hydrologic data,under current electricity price,the control of the regressing of the pre-flood water level of the Wuqiangxi Reservoir is analyzed with dynamic programming theory.

After the Three-Gorges Reservoir was put into use,riparian zones have been formed on both sides of the reservoir where the water level changes periodically.

After the running of Three Gorges Reservoir,the riparian zone which the ecotone of water aquatic ecosystem and the terrestrial ecosystem will come into being.
