发展过程：
该弹是美国于1963年发展的一种大面积反坦克子母弹。由美国霍尼韦尔公司联合研制，1970年装备美军。主要用于攻击暴露状态的装甲目标和人员。台湾引进后，主要装备f-5e、f-16等飞机。
性能特点：
1.杀伤范围大。1枚mk20装载200多枚子弹药，可杀伤4800平方米内目标。
2.抛投方法与其他炸弹一样，不受限制。
3.破甲能力强。子弹药释放后高速冲击装甲目标顶甲，可击穿50～80毫米钢甲。
4.维护简便，易保存。

1.弹箱为圆柱形，头部为半球形，并有花瓣状突出物，弹尾有4片控制面。
2.子弹药为mk118，前部为细炸高棒，头部为前粗后细的锥形装药，尾翼呈箭形。
