In order to improve the convergence rate and inversion precision in 2D inversion of vertical electrical sounding,to give the initial model of 2D inversion applying the formula of approximate inversion is put forward.

This paper introduces the application of the induced polarization method in a copper mine of Tibet,uses the IP intermediate gradient and DC IP sounding to select three electricity unusual points,extrapolates the characteristics of its source and the polarized object through the IP characteristics and the electricity characteristics of the rocks .

This paper points out that,with the IP sounding,the medium-gradient array can find and delineate IP anomalies and detect the burial depth and spatial occurrence of polarized bodies,thus providing fairly sufficient basis for engineering verification.
