羧甲基淀粉亦即羧甲基淀粉钠,简称CMC.属羧甲基醚类,是—种水溶性阴离子高分子化合物。它以成本低廉的淀粉为原料.与氢氧化钠水溶液或醇溶液进行碱化反应后,再与一氯乙酸在催化剂存在下反应.经干燥而制得的白色、无毒、无味的固体粉末,其物理性质和化学性质都与羧甲基纤维素钠(CMC)相近。
CMS具有良好的粘接性、分散性、乳化性、增稠性和吸湿性。
CMS可直接用于配制水溶性胶粘剂,亦可用作增稠剂。贮存于阴凉、通风.干燥的库房内,防潮。
