A Summary of the Shaanxi Province Declaration to the "Catalogue of National Rare Books in China"

The hand-copied books of ancient scholars made great contributions to supplementing and correcting the ancient books and records and helped to preserve and hand down to the following generations those valuable ancient books and records.

This paper expounds the necessity and importance of the old-book repairing in the library,introduces the differences between the repairing of the common old-books and the repairing of the rare ancient books,and probes into the selection of the materials for old-book repairing,the operation techniques and some matters needing attention.
