This thesis is to give an all round characteristics analysis on gearbox lubricant applied in cutterdisc driver onboard a shield tunnelling machine,followed by proposing a method of blending in of a kind of anti-wear extreme pressure additive to solve the problem of temperature rise in gearbox and torque fluctuation of cutterdisc driver.
