棕酱(brown sauce)。一般用作咸点的调味酱汁,或是作为西式浓汤、炖肉酱汁的一种材料,在主要成分麦醋中添加水果和香料而成,呈深棕色浓稠状。最著名的为hp酱(英文:hp sauce)是一种源自英国伯明翰阿斯顿(aston)的调味料品牌。
hp酱由英国诺丁汉的杂货店店东f·g·葛东(f. g. garton)研制而成。葛东于1903年开始贩卖hp酱,名字源于他听闻英国国会(houses of parliament,起首字母为hp)的一家餐厅使用了他研制的酱汁。葛东其后把秘方和hp酱品牌售予艾德云·森逊·摩亚(edwin samson moore),售价为150英镑和葛东的一些债务。
2005年6月20日,美国食品集团亨氏(heinz)以4亿7000万英镑收购了hp酱品牌。
hp酱在1960至70年代曾得过“威尔逊的酱汁”(wilson's gravy)的戏称。这源于时任英国首相哈罗德·威尔逊,其夫人在接受《星期日泰晤士报》访问时,说过“要说哈罗德唯一的错,就是他会把所有吃的都蘸很多hp酱”这样的一句话。
