To avoid that problem,a new trapezoid-anvil,which uses convex flat-anvil face instead of the V-anvil face at the transitional zone,is introduced based on the structure improvement of V-anvil.

Cold rolls made of forged steel MC3 and MC5 with higher alloy contents have been successfully developed through using some special technolo- gies to control the alloy steel's inclusions,gas content,porosity and segregation,especially adopting a main measure like"forging in core-anvil".
