Tarim Desert Highway has a longth of 522km, 275km of which crosses over the area ofthe compound longitudinal dunes, The forms of Sand diaster are different in different Parts of the Com-pound londitudinal dunes.

Based on the soil moisture on a longitudinal dune measured from March in 2004 to July 2005 and analyzing the weather station data in the southern part of Gurbantünggüt Desert,it is found that the spatial and temporal variations of soil moisture are mainly affected by snow melting and frozen soil changing.

Through the variability of incoming water and incoming sediment in the Dahua Reservoir area in different managed period,the sediment depositing in this reservoir area at present situation is analyzed;and a way which use typical water and sediment year to analyze the depositing of this reservoir is put forward.
