检索(retrieval)从已储存的信息库中索取、找出所需要的信息的过程。亦称“提取”。一般认为，短时记忆系统中的检索是一迅速搜寻与比较过程，人们不能意识到;长时记忆系统的检索主要是找到适当编码线索过程。其效果取决于原信息储存的组织程度和适宜的检索策略和方法。通常是把信息储存于按照自己的兴趣与认知结构所组织起来的材料之中，可减少材料的复杂性，便于信息的提取。 (赵宏宇撰成立夫市)
