江苏吴县甪直镇保圣寺罗汉，是全国重点文物保护单位。保圣寺最初创立于南朝萧衍梁武帝天鉴二年（503），唐、宋两代曾重建。殿内原有十八罗汉塑像，1927年大殿倒塌，仅存九尊。这九尊塑像，是我国古代雕塑艺术的精品。塑像人体比例适度，衣褶线条流畅，而且富有不同性格与气质。如“降龙”罗汉，健壮、威武、骠悍而沉着。圆颅大颏，隆鼻阔口，双目睨视前上方，若有所见。细节刻划极精，右手食指微曲，似在轻弹膝盖，于从容中更见内在力量。其他塑像也各有特点，同中见异。塑像后的壁塑，为近似浮雕式的山水背景，塑造亦甚精美。保圣寺罗汉像，历来相传是唐代雕塑家杨惠之所作，近代有人认为是北宋之物，也有人认为是唐塑宋修。
