通过膀胱压力容积计测定膀胱内尿液体积(容积)变化时膀胱内压力的相应变化及膀胱内感觉情况。检查时经尿道向膀胱置管并用液体或气体作为膀胱充盈的介质。仪器将膀胱充盈(贮尿功能)及收缩(排尿功能)过程描记成膀胱压力容积曲线。借此了解膀胱顺应性、膀胱稳定性、膀胱容量、膀胱感觉、运动神经支配等情况。在临床上主要用来检查膀胱功能，并对神经源性膀胱患者作出诊断与分类。
