中国古代美学范畴。意，指心意；象，指物象。意象即对象的感性形象与自己的心意状态融合而成的蕴于胸中的具体形象。该词原为哲学概念。南朝梁刘勰在《文心雕龙》中首次将其用于艺术创造，指出“独照之匠，窥意象而运斤”，说明构思时须将外物形象与意趣、情感融合起来，以形成审美意象。
