芦苇 Phragmites communis;reed 禾本科芦苇属多年生高大草本。古名芦、苇、蒹葭。可用以保土固堤,并可作造纸、人造纤维的原料。生态适应性广,中国及世界温带地区均有分布。芦苇的形态变异较大。一般具有发达的根状茎。地上茎高1~3米。粗细随生长条件而异。叶互生,带状,宽1~3.5厘米。复圆锥花序。适宜肥沃潮湿的环境条件。通常成片生于池沼、河旁、湖边,常形成芦苇荡。繁殖能力强,常用根状茎繁殖,也可用芦秆和种子繁殖。芦苇含纤维素44%,与木材纤维相仿,是优良的造纸原料,还可用以制人造棉及人造丝。秆可盖建茅屋,又可编织芦席、芦帘及其他用具。根状茎在中医学上称芦根,为清热利尿药。种植芦苇除可固堤外,常为海涂开发的先锋植物,并有改良盐碱土及净化污水的作用。
