【来源】
为龙胆科植物肉根龙胆的根。
【植物形态】
肉根龙胆 多年生矮小草本，高约5厘米。根数条，肉质，细圆柱形或纺锤形，黄白色。无主茎。叶小，辐射状平铺地面；线状披针形，长1.2～2.4厘米，宽约3毫米，先端尖，基部阔，彼此相抱，主脉于两面均稍凸出，下面灰白色，全缘。花茎自叶丛抽出，每花茎上有花1～2朵；紫蓝色；花冠狭长，漏斗形，花瓣5。蒴果。 生于山间疏林向阳坡地草丛中。分布云南等地。
【采集】
夏、秋采集。洗净晒干。
【性味】
《滇南本草》："味苦微甘，性微寒。"
【功用主治】
益肺肾，退虚热。治肺虚咳嗽，肾虚遗精、遗尿，虚劳发热不退。 ①《滇南本草》："煮鸡食补血，煮猪肉食补肾，煮羊肉食补气。单食此参，退虚烧热症。""治劳伤虚热不退，血气虚弱，形体消瘦，虚劳发热，午后怯冷，夜间发热，五心烦热，天明出汗，盗汗等症，男妇并皆治之。金钱参五钱，嫩母鸡一只，去肠，入参于鸡腹内，水煮烂服之。或水煎用童便点服，亦可。" ②《云南中草药》："补虚，益肺，滋肾。治病后体虚，肺虚咳嗽，多梦，遗精，遗尿，小儿疳积。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，3～5钱；或炖鸡服。
【选方】
①治肺虚咳嗽：菊花参，水煎服。(《昆明民间常用草药》) ②治虚烧不退：菊花参三钱，地骨皮五钱。水煎服。(《昆明民间常用草药》)
