香港地区有1家官方电台、1家商营电台和两家商营电视公司。每天广播时间都超过20小时。①香港电台是政府电台, 由香港政府广播处长监管。1928年 6月成立。分电台部和电视部。电台部有5个广播台，播放5套不同节目，听众各有侧重。电视部制作节目，供商营电视台播放。不播广告。全部经费由政府提供。②香港商业广播有限公司，于1959年 8月成立。总经理何佐芝。分设3 个广播台，分别以粤语和英语广播。收入主要靠播放商业广告。③电视广播有限公司，于1967年11月开始播放电视节目，是香港最早成立的彩色无线电视台。有粤语台和英语台各1个。收益主要靠广告费。董事局主席邵逸夫。④亚洲电视有限公司,前身是丽的呼声 (电视)广播有限公司。1957年 5月成立，是香港最早的有线电视台。1973年12月改用无线播放，并改名丽的电视有限公司。1982年 9月，又改名亚洲电视有限公司。有粤语台和英语台各 1个。收益主要靠广告费。董事局主席邱德根。
