服刑者人格(personality of prisoners)亦称“监狱人格”，指由于长期服刑生活而造成的人格畸变。服刑者人格的主要特征是:(l)屈从。服刑者由于长期被强制监管改造，逐渐变得失去其原有个性，一切听命于他人，缺乏自己的独立见解。(2)卑微。在自我意识与自我评价上，不适当地降低自己的价值，变得过分谨小慎微，在生活细节上也不敢自作主张。(3)双重人格。在管教干部面前是一副屈从、卑微的面孔，在私下却流露出内心的真情实感，甚至凌辱、欺侮比自己更弱小或处于困境的其他犯人。(4)缺乏活力与创造性。监狱人格是长期服刑生活所造成的消极后果，它不利于罪犯的彻底改造，同时也将造成重返社会后的适应不良，在沸腾的社会生活和竞争机制面前遇到困难。劳改机关应当防止和纠正监狱人格的形成。 (柯为民撰岁大华审)
