In view of the large head variation in Longtan hydropower station and the turbine′s operation stability,this paper gives suggestion to raise the rated head of turbine or set a maximum capacity of generator of continuous operation .

With the help of many design institutes,data of domestic turbines has been collected,then the method of enveloping regression is chosen,and the rule between the specific speed of turbine and the rated head is analyzed.
