沮丧(dejeetion)一种消极的、无力的情绪状态。它常常是由于工作或事业上的重大失败、生活上的严重打击引起的，在主观体验上表现为对工作、事业或前途丧失信心、情绪低落，在活动上表现为软弱无力和无所作为。这种情绪的发生及其影响一方面决定于所遭遇的失败或打击的严重程度，另一方面也与失败或打击的突然性即是否对它有某种心理上的准备有关。它在轻微时可导致一定时间内的情绪低落和行动受阻，而强烈时则可能导致精神的解体，对生活丧失信心和兴趣。为保持健康的心理生活，就要避免这种情绪特别是它的过于强烈的作用。为此，必须一方面尽量减少可能遇到的失败和打击，另一方面要加强思想修养，使人对不可避免的失败和打击有一定的心理准备和承受能力。 (王启康撰彭转龄审)
