| 茅茅运动 Mau Mau Movement 20世纪50年代肯尼亚人民反对英国殖民者的武装斗争运动。茅茅是该运动组织的名称。第二次世界大战结束后，曾在英国军队中服役的肯尼亚人纷纷复员回国。这些受过反法西斯战争洗礼的士兵，具有一定的民族民主思想，利用传统宣誓的办法，开始组织茅茅。最初只有2000多人。它提出的夺回土地、废除种族歧视、争取生存和独立的口号，很快就得到各地农民的响应，力量迅速壮大。1950 年8 月，茅茅开始转入武装斗争。 茅茅运动的主 要 领 导人都是肯尼亚非洲人联盟的成员。1952年由于殖民当局加紧镇压，茅茅转移到山区，以肯尼亚山和阿伯德尔山为基地，开展游击战争。同年 8 月16日，非洲人联盟领导人J.肯雅塔秘密接见了运动领袖 。10 月20日，英国殖民当局宣布进入紧急状态，逮捕了肯雅塔等人。1954年英国殖民军向肯尼亚山区森林地带发动大规模扫荡，茅茅遭到重大伤亡。1957年，它的领导人基马蒂被杀害，运动逐步走向低潮。幸存的茅茅战士继续在山林坚持斗争。肯尼亚独立后，大部分茅茅战士走出游击区，一些负责人还参加了独立后国家的恢复工作。
