| 极移服务 polar motion service 用天文学的方法系统地测定、计算和提供地极坐标，直接为大地测量、地球物理、空间科学及其他国民经济、科学研究和国防建设部门服务的一项工作。早期的极移服务主要为通过天文观测确定纬度变化，并由纬度变化推算地极坐标。在原子时出现以后，1968年起国际时间局实施利用纬度和时间观测同时解算地极坐标。20世纪70年代起先后有人造卫星多普勒跟踪、月球激光测距、人造卫星激光测距、甚长基线干涉测量、全球定位系统等新技术用于极移测定，获得的地极坐标资料周期短、精度高。进行极移服务的国际机构先有国际纬度服务，后有国际时间局和国际极移服务。1988年起后两个机构改组为国际地球自转服务，同时开展时间和极移服务。 |
