雄黄,矿物名。化学成分为AsS,也称鸡冠石。单斜晶系,晶体为柱状,大多成块状集合体。多数为桔红色。半透明,晶面有金刚光泽。密度3.5g/cm3。难溶于水。质脆,有毒。用于提炼砷,制取三氧化二砷。还用于制颜料、玻璃、焰火。中医药用为解毒、杀虫药,外用治癣疥恶疮、蛇虫咬伤;内服微量治惊痫、疮毒等。
