The Bayanharshan Group with a great thickness, unvarying lithology, and few body fossils outcrops widely in the Qumarleb-Zhidoi area, southern Qinghai.
青海南部曲麻莱—治多地区广泛出露厚度巨大、岩性单一、实体化石稀少的三叠系巴颜喀拉山群,其地层划分与对比因缺乏明显标志而相对困难。

Trace fossils from the upper pant of the Bayanharshan Group (Upper Triassic) in Qumarleb-Zhidoi area, Southern Qinghai Province, have been systematically gathered for the first time, they comprise 54 ichnospecies in 33 ichnogenera.

Neoproterozoic and Devonian strata are found in the Xijir Ulan tectonic belt and Early and Late Triassic Noric valve fossils are taken from the Bayan Har Mountain Group.
在巴颜喀拉山群中采获早三叠世和晚三叠世诺利期双壳化石,查明了测区三叠纪巴颜喀拉山群最高层位为诺利期陆棚—海陆交互相沉积。

| 巴颜喀拉山 昆仑山脉东延部分 。位于中国青海省中部偏南。旧称巴颜喀喇山。蒙古语意为富饶青(黑)色的山。属褶皱山，西北一东南走向。西拉可可西里山，东接松潘高原和邛崃山。全长780千米。海拔5000米左右。主峰（ 藏名勒那冬则）海拔5267米，雅拉达泽山海拔5202（一说5442）米。为黄河与长江河源段的分水岭，也是黄河源地。北坡平缓 ，南坡深切，多峡谷。山麓有约古宗列盆地。 |
